Staffordshire Bull Terriers Officially Named Britain’s Favourite Dog

The votes have been counted and the results are in; Staffordshire Bull Terriers are officially Britain’s favourite dog.

After a sad background which sees many people associate the dogs with aggressive behaviour, Staffies are finally being shown in a positive new light.
A poll of 10,000 people took place for the show Britain’s Favourite Dogs yesterday (January 29), and dog-loving viewers everywhere watched as the country’s 217 recognised dog breeds where whittled down to a top 100.
The show lasted a lengthy two and a half hours, but that’s understandable considering what was at stake. It must have been heartbreaking for those in charge to have to let the ‘less-favoured’ puppers down.

With that in mind, I’d just like to send a quick message to whichever dogs didn’t make the top 100; I still love you.
I don’t think I could ever choose my favourite dog breed. My choice changes every time I come across a new one that wags its tail at me.
Congratulations, Staffies! Let’s hope they get showered in the love they deserve for their win.
