A Woman Is Getting Married To Her Duvet

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the number of new relationships and proposals is about to go up ten-fold. Trust me, I can guarantee it.
Okay, I can’t actually, but I just enjoyed how dramatic it sounded in my head. What I mean to say is that it’s going to be a lot harder to ignore all the sickeningly loved-up couples on our social media feeds for the next month or so.
Therefore, to distract your attention from those people, let me introduce to you: the woman who’s planning to declare her undying love for her duvet – by marrying it.
No, seriously. Pascale Sellick, 49, is fed up of conventional relationships, describing her duvet as the ‘most intimate and reliable relationship’ she’s ever had.

Amen to that, sister. Seriously, how many times have you snoozed your alarm to spend just five more minutes in the warm embrace of your duvet? It never seems to get any easier either.
I’m not sure I’d go as far as marrying my duvet though. But Pascale, who has decided to, will have a lavish ceremony, surrounded by anyone who wishes to attend – it’s an open invite.
In other words, anyone who wishes to observe the moment she publicly declares her love for her favourite bedtime companion, is free to do so.
Pascale is an artist who describes herself as a ‘rude, crude, spectacular exhibitionist’, so the ceremony’s not likely to be something you’ll want to miss.
Held at Rougemont Gardens in Exeter, Devon, on Sunday, February 10, the unusual ceremony will take place at 2pm, and will be followed by a ‘free wedding party’ at The Glorious Art House in Fore Street.
